Holiday Glamour

Christmas time is the perfect time for making magical family memories. I have so many fond childhood Christmas memories, and none of them have anything to do with any toy I ever received. They all are about cherished family holiday traditions. Over the years our family has created some of our own...

Everyday Glamour: Surround Yourself with Art!

Whether we may realize it or not, art plays a role in most of our daily lives. There is visual content everywhere around us: hanging in our offices, public art displayed in our parks and around our cities, and surrounding us in our private spaces.

Time for Tea

My discovery of a darling collection of nostalgic frocks, pinafores, and tea dresses in an array of patterns, cuts, jewel tones and pastels. Celebrate spring and peruse this Etsy shop for a piece to don at a local garden or social event.

Harvesting Heart

Autumn is that chance to be in the moment, forgetting that the vibrant leaves will drop and reveling in their fiery splendor, harvesting the fire in your heart like it will never die.

Food: Pyramid or Teeter Totter?

Food: Pyramid or Teeter Totter?

A love/hate relationship is never stable, and if there’s any word we don’t want to use to describe our eating habits, it’s unstable, or unbalanced.

"A Tune Tip from Sashay Music Reviewer, Bruce Skinner"

Revalator, the recent collaboration between Susan Tedeschi and her husband Derek Trucks, may seem like an odd choice for an end of summer album review.  Perhaps a more predictable selection would be a dance infused independent arena rock extravaganza with loads of theatrics and shiny glistening shimmeriness (insert cliché music review language.)  You’ve heard it all before by this point.  Music is a tough thing to talk about, so I’ll get to the point.  Never mind the compelling clichés.  Go give Revalator a listen and make your mind up for yourself.  To me this album feels like the Georgia sun relenting after a sudden afternoon rain.  As always Tedeschi’s voice is exquisite and Trucks’ slide guitar underlines and accents it perfectly with joy and sadness in equal measure.
Three and a half stars.
