Cute as a Pixie

Indie knitwear artisans, Diane and Christopher Serviss, are the creative duo behind Pixiebell Elfinwear, a fashion forward, handmade knitwear company with a trace of whimsy. The small family run business began in the Spring of 2007, designing and hand-knitting accessories with some "chunk and funk" to them, beginning with their signature pixie elf style hat.

Their organic approach to design, rich color palette and chunky yarn selection are a sure sign that this isn’t your Grandma’s knitting. Their warm and toasty knitwear is classic in design, yet playful in its appeal to our younger selves.

Diane grew up in the Green Mountains of Vermont and as a child would often borrow her mother's hats and scarves. She wanted to bring that childhood feeling of wearing cozy, over-sized knitwear into her line. • Last fall, Pixiebell Elfinwear was asked to design and hand-knit a line for designer Cynthia Rowley.

• Pixiebell Elfinwear posts the knitting patterns for many original designs on Etsy and Ravelry so fellow knitters can knit their own.
